February 21st-February 27th, 2017

Hello friends!

It's been another wonderful week serving the Lord here in Spain!
Hermana Encarnación and I have lots of investigators and less active
members we are working with and it's fun trying to focus on all of
their needs all at once. The work is moving right along and it's a big
blessing for me to see how the gospel of Jesus Christ changes the
lives of people. As you've figured out from my emails, a day in the
life of a missionary is full of studying, praying, talking to new
people and teaching people the basics of the gospel.

We are currently working with several people who are quitting smoking.
The church has an awesome addiction recovery program and we've been
helping a few people use the smoking program and Christ's teaching to
help them change their lives!

Michael is a 21 year old guy who we've been teaching for a while. A
few weeks ago he told us he didn't want us to teach him anymore. We
stopped meeting with him but the gospel is really something he needs.
A week ago we got a call from the other set of hermanas and they said
they had run into Michael in the street. Michael said he wanted to
meet with us so we went and met. We had the most powerful lesson with
him that was completely guided by the Spirit!! We met with him again a
few days later and he came to church yesterday! There are a couple of
doubts he needs to let go of, but I'm really excited to keep teaching
him!

Alberto and Jahoska: they are a young couple who were baptized a while
ago in Nicaragua. When they moved to Spain, they were active in the
church for a year and then stopped going gradually. We got in contact
with them a month ago and we've been meeting with them since. They now
have goals to get active again and go to the temple! They don't
remember a lot so we've been teaching them all the lessons and
strengthening their testimonies. They make me happy because they know
that they need the gospel in their home for their four little kids.

In Friday night we had a ward activity that we've been planning for a
while. The missionaries have been working to get the ward more
involved in activities so the people we teach and invite feel more
welcome. We organized a movie night and assigned people to bring food
and drinks. It was supposed to start at 7 pm and not a single soul
besides Ruben and his family showed up (he's the ward mission leader).
We were pretty discouraged and Elder Layton says, "Wow. I feel like a
terrible party planner!" At 7:45, in true Spaniard fashion, 15 ward
members show up, a less active member and 2 investigators! So we started
the night almost an hour late, but it went well after that. We ate
bread, sandwiches, popcorn and the fudge Hermana Encarnación and I
brought. Progress!

It's going to be a good week coming up. We have interviews with
President Andersen on Thursday and a tri-zone conference on Friday.

Have a wonderful week!

Here's a few pictures from the week!

I love this book!

We have so many members who feed us here!

Hey look! It's short sleeve weather! It's been a while since my arms have seen the sun... Here we are sitting in a park writing before we head off to the mall.

February 7th-February 13th, 2017--Murcia!

Hello!

Well it seems like so much has happened since last week Monday! Let's
see... My last few days in Granada  were full of good byes, but I'll
get back there some day.

I said good bye to sweet Hermana Gentry on Tuesday morning as she left
to go pick up her new companion in Málaga. It was such a good transfer
with that girl. We saw lots of miracles, saw Karen get baptized and
ate lots of bread and fruity pebbles. What more could we have asked
for? Then I waited for an hour at the bus station with Elder Egbert
(shout out to the newly returned Josh!!) and Elder Köhler. The bus
ride to Murcia was about five hours and I napped, journaled and sort
of broke my iPad. (It reset itself and I lost my notes and my
documents) When I got to Murcia I waited in the bus station for 40
minutes and no one was there... So just as I was using a lady's phone
to call the mission office, Hermana Favero and my new companion
Hermana Encarnación showed up!

Tuesday night we visited a few people so Hermana Favero could say good
bye. On Wednesday  we were at the bus station for most of the day for
transfers. In the big groups of incoming and outgoing missionaries, I
got to see HERMANA TWEDE. It was a happy reunion. :) For lunch on
Wednesday we ate at an Ecuadorian place and I ate cow stomach
(surprisingly not too bad).

The rest of the week has been pretty jumbled up but the important
thing is that Murcia is a great place! The area has been super easy to
learn and I already sort of know where we're going. Hermana
Encarnación is just awesome. She is latina, sassy and energetic. She
has really good people skills and I have a lot to learn from her.
Speaking Spanish all the time is pretty tiring, but it's been really
good.

Hermana Encarnación is very diligent in this work and we have had some
jam packed days this week! We have been working hard and have been
working with the ward to get them excited about the work too.

Question: I know God can do all things but how did he make me with my
blond straight as a stick hair and Hermana Encarnación with her crazy
afro hair?!
Music time with a less active, Rodolfo. :)

Have a wonderful week!
Love, Hermana Moore

January 31st-February 6th 2017--A baptism and transfer calls!

Hola amigos!!

What a happy week!! So, I'm a little late on time today because we had
a district cooking/baking lesson for pday. I taught the elders how to
make paella and then we made pazooki too. :) Here's some pictures from
that! And then the rest of the email will be short.

Exciting news number one: KAREN GOT BAPTIZED!! On Saturday night Karen we had an awesome baptism program  she bore her testimony and Bishop Rica baptized her. It was so beautiful and I got to bear my testimony too! She has been so well prepared by the Lord and she is so happy to be following the example of Jesus Christ! I feel so very blessed to be her missionary and be able to have helped taught her this glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. Look how happy and beautiful she is, especially in white! What a happy day!!

On Saturday night, after such a wonderful day we got an unexpected phone call from President Andersen. He said "well Hermana, all good things have to come to an end" and then he went on to tell me that I will be transferred to Murcia! Hermana Gentry will train a new missionary! I'll go to be companions with Hermana Encarnación. All I know about her is that she is from the Dominican Republic and I am so excited to meet her! That means all Spanish all the time so my Spanish will improve a lot with her! Also, Mom served in Murcia! So I'm super excited! Blessings blessings. :)

Since Saturday night we have been rushing around says good bye to the wonderful members and investigators we have here in Granada. I have come to have such a huge love for these children of God I'm the past 4 months. I am sad to leave these people and my wonderful companion but I know that my work in Granada is done but God has a lot of people in Murcia that need me and my testimony.

Saying good bye to Mak was so hard. :/ but he shared a cool experience with us. Today during Sacrament meeting while he was taking the Sacrament he heard a voice that said simply "Búscame" I know without a doubt that it was the voice of our loving Heavenly Father telling his straying sheep that he needs to come back to His loving fold.

I love you all dearly! Have a wonderful week and enjoy the little miracles God puts in your life.

I love being a missionary!
