Opening my mission call was one of the coolest experiences of my life! Ever since singing "I Hope They Call Me On A Mission" in church when I was little, I dreamed of having my own moment to choke through "Dear Sister Moore' and get called to serve a mission for the Lord. It didn't become a real part of my plan for my life until my Senior year of high school. On Monday January 25th of 2016 I received my mission call! After much anticipation, it was finally my moment. Below is what I read to see where I had been called to serve for the next 18 months.
Dear Sister Moore:
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Spain Málaga Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 18 months.
You should report to the Spain Missionary Training Center on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. You will prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish language.

As I read the words Málaga, Spain, my heart soared and I felt my sweet Mom by my side. 40 years ago, in 1976 my Mom received her mission call which sent her to the same area I will be in. I knew immediately that Spain is where I belong and now I can't imagine going anywhere else.

I am so excited to follow in my Mom's footsteps and serve the people of Spain with all my heart, might, mind, and strength! I find such peace and joy in this Gospel and am so excited to spread the happiness of God's grace and His Plan of Happiness!
